Hello Old Friend

Hello Old Friend.  It's been a while since I was last here. It appears that our friends over at Google have not been here in some time either.  It would appear that my lack of attention has encouraged theirs. We are now over one year into the Trump era.  Just wondering if you think he is an embarrassment to the country or do you think he is doing great things? I would love to see his tax returns as I believe that he is hiding something there.  Really wonder how much money he owes to Russians.  Wonder how is wife feels about the current allegations of Donald chasing a Porn Star around his bedroom in his tighty whities.............. Hopefully the country can survive the next 3 years and then we can get a more "normal" person to fill that office. Until next time; take care.

Twitter and Google

Just some random thoughts................... As you may have heard by now, Twitter has signed a deal with Google that will allow Google access to their stream of Tweets.  Various blogs have been written as to what form that will take. Last week, Google announced some changes to Google+.  Hangouts and Photos were coming out and all that was to be left was something called Streams. I've used Google+ a little and I've used Twitter a little.  In my humble opinion, they pretty much do the same thing.  With a little stretch of the imagination, I could see this upcoming deal between Twitter and Google being something more than just Google showing Twitter tweets in search results.  Twitter feeds that can become a fire hose and now Google with streams.  They both have to do something to slow down Facebook. Who knows.........  Twitter could become the big acquisition for Google in 2015.  Or Twitter could acquire what is left of Google+.

Google Contacts and Geni

An open letter to Larry Page. Larry, hope you will forgive the informality.  My Mother did teach me better manners, but since I am older then you, I figured I'd just go with Larry. Several years ago I was hoping like crazy that Google would buy Geni or Ancestry.com.  As you can tell, I'm into Genealogy.  But you don't need to do that, as Google contacts has to only have some features added to it and you can take over this space, not to mention also Corporate Directories. Here is my proposal. Contacts has recently had relationships added to it.  Today you can add Mother, Father, Brother, Sister.  You need to add Grandfather, Grandmother, Uncle, Aunt, Cousin, Nephew, Niece...... you get the idea.  Next, for contacts that have a family relationship, you need to add, Place of Birth, Date of Death, Place of Burial.... etc. So far, I would think that these would be fairly simple things to add to Contacts.  Now comes the good stuf...

Google Phone

Interesting blog that strips away much of the hype that has been out there since Saturday. If the 1/5 date is true, we wouldn't have long to wait on this one. Will Google hit a home run, or will the mighty Google strike out? What do you think? in reference to: http://blogs.forrester.com/consumer_product_strategy/2009/12/google-phone-what-if.html ( view on Google Sidewiki )
